An ecological recycling industrial park featuring planting and breeding will be established in Leizhou, a county-level city in Zhanjiang, according to the strategic cooperation framework agreement signed by Leizhou and Guangdong Yihao Foodstuff Co Ltd.

Guangdong Yihao Foodstuff Co Ltd, a national agricultural leading enterprise based in Zhanjiang, is the largest swine breeding and sales company in China, owning more than 3,000 stores in 32 cities in the country.

The ecological recycling industrial park, whose total investment reaches 2 billion yuan ($281.19 million), mainly focuses on breeding swine and is expected to be constructed within three years.

Aiming to promote the construction of high-quality agricultural products production bases in Leizhou, the ecological recycling industrial park is designed to construct breeding bases with an annual production of 300,000 swine and 30,000 cattle, along with a 30,000 mu (2,000 hectares) vegetable planting base and a 10,000 mu (666.67 hectares) pasture planting base. 

Supporting facilities like a live cattle farm, a slaughter house, food processing enterprises, as well as large cold storage and logistics companies will also be set up in the area.

Tan Mingsen, the person in charge of the construction project, said that construction will start in October, and the annual value of production will exceed 2.5 billion yuan after the park begins operation. 

Tan added that the park will offer 5,000 job opportunities for farmers in Leizhou and provide a total income of 200 million yuan for them.
