Zhanjiang, Thailand strengthen exchanges

Zheng Renhao, secretary of the Zhanjiang municipal Party committee, met with Krongkanit Rakcharoen, the consul general of Thailand in Guangzhou, on Sept 18 to conduct exchanges and explore cooperation in various aspects, such as economy and trade, agriculture, culture, as well astourism.

Zheng gave an overview of Zhanjiang's current development, as well as the cooperation between Zhanjiang and Thailand. He stressed that Thailand is an important trading partner of Zhanjiang's in the ASEAN region. It has similar climatic conditions to Zhanjiang, with rich agricultural resources, strong complementary industries, and broad cooperation space. The two sides have deepened cooperation in recent years with the development of the Belt and Road. Thai merchants have been actively participating in the China Marine Economy Expo, the Water Expo, and the Guangdong-ASEAN Agricultural Trade Fair, promoting great achievements for both sides in education, agriculture, and aquaculture.

He also expressed his hope that more Thai enterprises will come to Zhanjiang to start businesses and make investments, noting that the city will provide high-quality services for them.

Rakcharoen expressed gratitude for the warm reception of Zhanjiang, saying that Thailand attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Zhanjiang in various fields. The Consulate General of Thailand in Guangzhou will support and strengthen cooperation between the two sides in tourism, economy, and trade.
