Celebration activities kicked off for the 2nd Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival at Yuren Wharf in Xiashan district, Zhanjiang, with local farmers and fishermen sharing the joy of a bumper harvest in the city.

The festival is being held from Sept 23 to Oct 7, and the Zhanjiang event was one of the 13 major activities of the 2019 China Farmers' Harvest Festival in Guangdong province. Cultural exhibitions, agricultural products exhibitions, seafood exhibitions, on-site seafood processing, cultural performances, and children's parks will be set up to celebrate the festival by showcasing Zhanjiang's unique agricultural and marine products.

The event aims to enhance public awareness and support for agricultural and rural work in Zhanjiang. It also aims to further create a good social atmosphere that celebrates the work of agriculture and countryside workers, as well as accelerate the implementation of the rural revitalization strategy in the city.
