Zhanjiang marine artworks debut at craft fair

More than 70 stunning works showcasing maritime folk skills from Zhanjiang were displayed with hundreds of traditional folk crafts from across the country at the 2019 China (Guangdong) Folk Crafts Fair, which opened in Guangzhou, Guangdong province on Oct 16.

The craft fair is being sponsored by the Chinese Folk Literature and Art Association, the Guangdong Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the Guangdong Folk Literature and Art Association. It has set up 138 booths and attracted 19 cities from all over the country to take part in it.

Folk skills in creating Leizhou kilns, Hengshan kilns, clay figures, woodcuts, and shell carvings, as well as artworks from Zhanjiang's universities and colleges spanning pottery, lacquer paintings, and pearl crafts are being exhibited at the fair to showcase the new styles and developments of Zhanjiang's folk arts.
