Zhanjiang Baosteel Chemical Co is busy constructing a 5G smart manufacturing base station, which will create the first manufacturing base applying 5G industrialization for its holding company Baowu Group.

The 5G project began in mid-October. It is expected to complete construction and installation of all basic equipment in mid-November. The project will build a communication base station in the chemical production area and the comprehensive electrical room area respectively, lay communication cables around the entire chemical area, as well as add 12 sets of 5G wireless signals relay equipment to ensure the 5G coverage of the entire area.

After completion, the 5G network can be used in all areas of Zhanjiang Baosteel Chemical Co, which will not only accelerate the communication efficiency, but also lay a foundation for the subsequent unmanned process improvement. It aims to build Baowu's first 5G industrialized manufacturing base and gradually become a smart factory.
