Zhanjiang gains tangible results in rural revitalization

Zhanjiang has achieved tangible results in its rural revitalization efforts this year, as the rural living environment has improved, the rural infrastructure has been upgraded, and rural industries have been promoted.

Dianshan village of Fucheng town, Leizhou was an impoverished village before. However, it has now invested more than 10 million yuan ($1.42 million) on the construction of such projects as safe drinking water, upgrade of village roads, rain and sewage diversion, small parks, as well as cultural sports activities venues.

Zhaowu village and Beishanyang village of Beipo town, Suixi county focused on new rural construction, raising about 1.9 million yuan to renovate village roads, solve the sewage project in the living quarters of villagers, and complete the safe drinking water project.

In recent years, Zhanjiang has implemented the Zhanjiang Rural Revitalization Strategy Implementation Plan (2018-2020), promoting the revitalization of resource assets, the integrated development of industries, the improvement of its environment, the cultivation of civilized rural areas, as well as the improvement of grassroots management. To date, finance departments at the city-level and county-level have invested a total of 760 million yuan in rural revitalization.

Zhanjiang has a total of 1,714 administrative villages and 12,107 natural villages, with a rural registered population of 5.29 million. As of Sept 30, 3,204 public toilets were built, 8,703 natural villages completed water supply, 1,010 natural villages established garbage collection and treatment systems, 11,802 natural villages built up cleaning teams, and 2,647 natural villages completed the construction of rain and sewage diversion facilities.
