As one of the five major islands in Zhanjiang, Nanping Island is located southeast of Donghai Island in the Zhanjiang Economic and Technological Development Zone. It possesses an area of about 0.73 square kilometers and a coastline of 1.74 kilometers. At present, it has been included in the country's first batch of non-resident island development list. According to the Overall Plan for Island Tourism Development in Guangdong Province (2017-2030), Nanping Island will mainly develop private elite clubs, Maldives-style honeymoon villas, as well as hot spring courtyards and art centers, highlighting high-end business and island vacations.
