Nansan Island is surrounded by the sea on all sides, facing the South China Sea in the east, Guangzhou Bay in the south, Nansan River in the north, and Zhanjiang Harbor in the west. The island has long been famous as a "gourmet island," as the sea water here has low salinity and rich microorganisms, which is very suitable for the growth of fish and shrimp. The island boasts a wide variety of seafood, including several kinds of high-quality fish, different kinds of shrimps, as well as crabs, cormorants, and jellyfish.
