Seven health centers in Zhanjiang have completed upgrading and construction, marking the remarkable results of the city's medical and health work programs in 2019.
The upgrading and construction projects of the health centers are meant to enhance primary health care capacity and promote reform of primary health service. They have received total investment of 1.34 billion yuan ($191.64 million) from the Guangdong Provincial Government and the Zhanjiang government.
In order to solve the problem of the loss of medical talents, Zhanjiang has introduced 14 chief experts to the seven central hospitals where they have reserved 660 medical and health personnel; a further 197 general practitioners have been selected for the township hospitals along with 192 targeted medical students.
Six high-level general hospitals have signed cooperation agreements with seven central health centers to provide comprehensive assistance in sharing high-quality medical resources, promoting management levels, cultivating backbone talents, optimizing process design, and improving the setting of diagnostic and treatment subjects.
Lin Huajian, director of the Zhanjiang health bureau, said that the city will strengthen the construction of medical and health personnel and comprehensively improve the level of regional medical services.
