Following the discharge of the first patient on Jan 29, another three patients in Zhanjiang who had been infected with the novel coronavirus, and one patient with an asymptomatic infection, have been cured and were discharged from the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University and Zhanjiang Central People's Hospital on Feb 5.

All three confirmed patients discharged this time have stayed in the epidemic area. The most senior among them is 80 years old.

Yang Zhigang, director of Zhanjiang Central People's Hospital, said that the hospital has currently admitted 13 confirmed patients, two of whom were discharged, with the remaining 11 cases are still improving.

Zhang Yuanli, deputy director of the ICU of the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University, said that the hospital will summarize their successful experiences and adopt effective methods to apply to the treatment of new patients.
