The first security door with automatic temperature measurement capabilities, bought by the People's Hospital of Wuchuan in Zhanjiang for more than 40,000 yuan ($5714.04), was put into use at the entrance to the outpatient hall of the hospital on Feb 5.

Now it's installed, the security door can detect the body temperature of all patients who come to the hospital, establishing a first line of safety for patients infected by the new coronavirus.

All patients passing through the security door, as long as they stand in the security inspection area and look up at the camera, will have their body temperature data immediately captured and displayed on the electronic screen above the security door in real time.

Once it is detected that the patient's temperature exceeds 37.3 C, the security door will issue an alert, and staff at the scene will guide the patient to the designated pre-trial clinic for further examination and observation, greatly improving diagnostic quality and the efficiency of the system.
