Zhanjiang COSCO Shipping Logistics Co, Zhanjiang Chenming Pulp and Paper Co, and Guangdong Guanhao High-tech Co have recently been certified by customs as an advanced authorized economic operator (AEO), increasing the total number of enterprises with AEO certificates under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang Customs to 14.

The enterprise management department of Zhanjiang Customs has issued preferential policies for AEO certification. It has adopted a convenient service measure of reviewing online first and supplementing information later for new applications that have already entered the review stage. It has also arranged professionals to provide enterprises with 24-hour instruction to help companies successfully pass AEO certification. 

The AEO system is a system advocated and vigorously promoted by the World Customs Organization to promote the security and convenience of international supply chains. In recent years, China's customs have accelerated the AEO mutual recognition consultations of the customs of important countries along the Belt and Road. According to statistics, when China's AEO enterprises export goods to countries or regions that have implemented AEO mutual recognition, the inspection rate can be reduced by 60 percent to 80 percent, while the time and cost of customs clearance can also be reduced by more than half.

"The AEO certification has not only improved our company's credit rating and brand value, but also granted us with convenience measures of the customs, as well as greater advantages in international source procurement and customs clearance," said a person in charge of Zhanjiang Chenming Pulp and Paper Co.

Zhanjiang Customs will strengthen the promotion and cultivation of AEO certification policies to allow more enterprises to enjoy preferential customs policies, as well as to create a better environment for foreign trade.
