A new container shipping route from Zhanjiang, South China's Guangdong province to Vietnam and Singapore was officially launched on April 3.

After the launch of the shipping route, it will only take three days for container vessels to reach Zhanjiang from Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam, further reducing the delivery time between the two cities.

Two container vessels will be arranged by the operator, COSCO Shipping Lines Co Ltd, to commute along the route.

In recent years, Zhanjiang Port has been promoting the construction of fast shipping routes to Southeast Asia, helping enterprises expand into the Southeast Asian market. It has opened several direct liner ship lines to Vietnam, Singapore, Cambodia, Thailand, and Malaysia.

COSCO Shipping Lines is a fully owned subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Holding Co. The Shanghai-headquartered shipping and logistics giant has the largest shipping capacity in the world and the third-largest number of container vessels.
