The launching ceremony of the first group of the "Freshly Visiting Zhanjiang" tour was held in Jinsha Bay in Zhanjiang's Chikan district on April 18, marking the restart of local tours in the city after the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pneumonia.
The 48 visitors, organized by Zhanjiang GZL International Travel Service Ltd, are all local residents and people with a long history of local residence.
The Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism issued the notice on the pilot work of the operation resumption of travel agencies and online tourism enterprises in several prefecture-level cities on March 27. Zhaoqing, Shantou, Shaoguan, Chaozhou, Qingyuan, and Zhanjiang were included on the pilot list.
Travel agencies in Zhanjiang hereby planned several one-day travel routes focusing on outdoor eco-tourism attractions, such as admiring flowers, picking fruit, and visiting ancient towns.
Several measures have been taken by travel agencies to ensure visitors' safety during the COVID-19 epidemic. Those showing their Yuekang health code and in good health condition are allowed to sign up for a package tour.
Tourist coach buses will be thoroughly disinfected twice a day and equipped with hand sanitizer. They have also implemented a "one person enjoying two seats"policy, ensuring that people are socially distancing from each other in the coach compartment.
"As a Zhanjiang resident, I'm proud to experience the 'pineapple sea' in Xuwen county through this tour," said a visitor surnamed Li from the first group of the "Freshly Visiting Zhanjiang" tour.
