Zhanjiang rated as Asian standard third-tier city

Zhanjiang in South China's Guangdong province was rated as an Asian standard third-tier city on this year's Asian city ranking list that was recently published by the University of Tokyo.

Zhanjiang ranked 24th on the Asian standard third-tier city ranking list, and had the highest ranking among cities in west Guangdong province.

The Asian city ranking list divided Asian cities into the categories of Asian developed first-tier city, Asian standard first-tier city, Asian developed second-tier city, Asian standard second-tier city, Asian developed third-tier city, and Asian standard third-tier city.

Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, as well as Guangzhou and Shenzhen in Guangdong province were rated as Asian developed first-tier cities, while Chengdu in Sichuan province, Wuhan in Hubei province, Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, Nanjing and Suzhou in Jiangsu province, Chongqing, Tianjin, as well as Taipei in Taiwan were included on the Asian standard first-tier city ranking list.
