Due to the China-ASEAN Free Trade Certificate of Origin (C/O) issued by Xiahai Customs under the jurisdiction of Zhanjiang Customs, the 92 pianos that Guangdong Longjoin Musical Instruments Co Ltd recently exported to Malaysia enjoyed zero tariffs.
"It is the first time that my company has exported pianos from self-owned brands and we were unfamiliar with relevant policies of the customs," said the company's general manager who is surnamed Zhou. "Officials of Xiahai Customs helped us a lot."
Several actions have been made by Xiahai Customs to provide better C/O services, as well as to help enterprises speed up the resumption of their production.
Xiahai Customs has been publicizing the requirements and matters needing attention for applying for C/Os through online and offline channels. Customs officials are specifically assigned to help enterprises apply for C/Os and solve relevant problems.
In the first quarter of this year, Xiahai Customs issued a total of 2,345 C/Os. It has helped enterprises under its jurisdiction obtain a tariff reduction of 33.38 million yuan ($4.7 million) from import countries. The total number of China-ASEAN Free Trade C/Os issued by Xiahai Customs in that period was 576, generating a tariff reduction of 29.1 million yuan.
