The first Qindou Mango Festival kicked off in Leizhou, a county-level city in Zhanjiang, on May 16, and will last about one month.

Qindou town in Leizhou is renowned as the hometown of mangoes in China, and Qindou mangoes have been recognized as a National Geographical Indication Product.

The mango festival is expected to further promote the brand awareness of Qindou mangoes. It will set up a model that integrates standardized production and management, as well as online marketing for other advantageous agricultural products in Leizhou, while also increasing the incomes of farmers, according to Sun Zhenghao, deputy mayor of Leizhou.

A series of internet-based activities, including live streaming through online platforms like Douyin and Kuaishou, will be carried out to expand the marketing channels and promote sales of Qindou mangoes.
