Zhanjiang in South China's Guangdong province topped the province in terms of the composite index of the ambient air quality from January to April, according to the province's department of ecology and environment.
The city had a 96.3 percent rate of days with excellent or good air quality in the first four months of 2020, down 0.7 percentage points from the same period in 2019.
The average particulate matter less than 2.5 microns in diameter (PM2.5) concentration from January to April was 26 micrograms per cubic meter, a decrease of 13.3 percent year-on-year.
