The Guangdong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Guangdong Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology jointly released the first provincial list of 20 high-quality industrial tour routes on Aug 4.

The petrochemical and steel tourist route in Zhanjiang was included on the provincial list.

Guangdong boasts a solid industrial development foundation, profound industrial cultural deposits, and rich industrial tourism resources. The provincial list aims to promote the integrated development of industries and tourism in Guangdong, as well as further advance all-for-one tourism in the province.

The major tourist attractions along the Zhanjiang petrochemical and steel tourism route include the Xicheng Express Line, the Donghai Island Railway, the BASF (Guangdong) Integrated Base project, the Zhongke (Guangdong) Refinery and Petrochemical project, Baosteel Zhanjiang Iron and Steel Co, as well as Huguangyan Scenic Area and the Fisherman's Wharf.
