The 2020 Zhanjiang Fishing Festival will take place from Aug 16 to 20, according to the city's bureau of culture, radio, tourism and sports.

This year's festival will be composed of both offline activities and online livestreaming. Its opening ceremony will be held simultaneously in one main venue, Zhanjiang International Cruise Port Complex, and three sub-venues, namely the fishing ports at Naozhou Island, Wushi town in Leizhou, a county-level city in Zhanjiang, and Jianghong town in Suixi county.

Activities like an aquatic products e-commerce shopping festival, a famous restaurant and seafood festival, as well as livestreaming of internet celebrities touring Zhanjiang will be organized for visitors to enjoy themselves.

As part of its COVID-19 prevention and control measures, the main venue of the festival's opening ceremony will limit the number of on-site participants and require advanced reservations for people who want to take part.
