Zheng Renhao, Party secretary of Zhanjiang, met with Yong Heming, president of Guangdong University of Finance (GDUF), on Aug 14.

The two had in-depth exchanges and discussions about university-city financial cooperation and promoting the integrated development of industry and the university.

Zheng, on behalf of the CPC Zhanjiang Municipal Committee and the municipal government, expressed his heartfelt welcome to the delegation led by Yong.

Zhanjiang has been sparing no effort in becoming a provincial sub-central city and a major part of the modern coastal economic belt in the province. The city urgently needs high-caliber financial talents to provide intellectual support, said Zheng.

Zheng also expressed his hopes that GDUF can give full play to its strong faculty and rich scientific research resources to train more financial talents for Zhanjiang and provide an intellectual guarantee for its financial development.

Yong said that GDUF will fulfill its social responsibility, strengthen university-city cooperation, and assist in the economic and social development of Zhanjiang.

He hoped that a long-term strategic cooperative relationship can be built between GDUF and Zhanjiang to cultivate more talents to advance the city's financial development and help build the city into a regional financial hub.
