The fifth Guangdong-ASEAN Agricultural Trade Fair is scheduled to kick off in Zhanjiang on Sept 25, according to the trade fair's organizing committee.

By Sept 21, a total of 903 enterprises have signed up for the trade fair, of which 613 of them are domestic agricultural enterprises and 89 of them are agricultural enterprises from countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Launched in 2016, the annual event has served as an international platform for China to deepen cooperation with ASEAN countries in agriculture and trade.

This year's trade fair is jointly hosted by the Guangdong Association of Agricultural Leading Enterprises, Zhanjiang Nongken Group, and Guangdong Zhenchuang International Exhibition Co Ltd. It will adopt a model integrating both online and offline exhibitions and sales by cooperating with e-commerce platforms.

In addition, a communication meeting on the development of agricultural production capacity will be carried out during the trade fair, inviting experts in rice, potato, and agriculture industrialization to explore new models of agricultural exchanges and cooperation.

The second China Sea Rice Development Forum will also be held during the trade fair, with experts discussing the new technologies and the new growth drivers for the development of sea rice.
