Leizhou launches new talent preferential policies

Leizhou, a county-level city in Zhanjiang, recently launched eight new preferential policies for talents, providing strong support for the city's implementation of the innovation-driven development strategy, as well as the acceleration of its economic and social development.

Talents with a PhD that are introduced to Leizhou shall be granted an annual subsidy of 160,000 yuan ($23,765.55), while those with a master's degree will have a subsidy of 60,000 yuan per year. 

Undergraduates who graduated from top-tier Chinese universities involved in Project 985, a Chinese project for founding world-class universities in the 21st century, and studied majors that are in urgent need in the city shall be granted a subsidy of 60,000 yuan per year.

The majors that are in urgent need in the city are those related to industrial park construction, investment promotion, urban expansion, transportation infrastructure construction, grassroots governance and rural revitalization, as well as business environment improvement.

Talents who have a full-time undergraduate degree and a high professional title shall be granted an annual subsidy of 160,000 yuan, while those with an associate high professional title will receive a subsidy of 60,000 yuan per year.

Academic leaders from public schools in Leizhou who are under the age of 50 shall have an annual subsidy ranging from 30,000 yuan to 80,000 yuan. Special-class teachers under the age of 55 can receive a subsidy of 100,000 yuan.

People with the Leizhou Senior Talent Card or the Leizhou Talent Card can enjoy the services of "diagnosis and treatment first, then payment later" at second-class hospitals or above, as well as be exempted from outpatient medical fees. They can also have a free physical examination once a year.

If renting houses within the jurisdiction of Leizhou, holders of the Leizhou Senior Talent Card or the Leizhou Talent Card shall be granted a monthly subsidy that is equal to 70 percent of their monthly rent.

People who win the Outstanding Talent Award of Leizhou at the city's annual appraisal activity can receive a subsidy of up to 300,000 yuan.
