This year's citywide finals of the Zhanjiang teenage campus football league kicked off at Zhanjiang Aizhou Senior High School on Oct 20, and will last until Nov 2.

The competition is divided into five groups, namely the primary school boys' group, the primary school girls' group, the junior high school boys' group, the junior high school girls' group, and the senior high school boys' group.

A total of 67 teams and 1,536 athletes from around the city are taking part in the competition.

Dating back to 2013, the teenage campus football league has been carried out for six sessions. It has played a positive role in promoting the healthy and rapid development of teenage campus football in Zhanjiang.

Zhanjiang is a pilot city for football in Guangdong province. To date, the city has established 101 national-level teenage campus football-featured schools, 190 provincial-level schools for the promotion of teenage campus football, as well as two trial counties, county-level cities, or districts for campus football in Guangdong province.

In addition, this year's province-wide finals of the Guangdong teenage campus football league for the senior high school and vocational school groups will be carried out in Zhanjiang from Nov 25 to Dec 15.
