Zhanjiang sees growth in foreign trade in Jan-April

The total value of Zhanjiang's exports and imports from January to April reached 12.16 billion yuan ($1.71 billion), up 3.8 percent from the same period last year, according to recent statistics released by Zhanjiang Customs.

In terms of trade methods, the import and export of general trade in the first four months saw an increase of 0.9 percent to 9.43 billion yuan, making up 77.6 percent of Zhanjiang's foreign trade. The import and export of bonded logistics from January to April reached 1.19 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 36.4 percent and accounting for 9.8 percent of Zhanjiang's foreign trade, while those of processing trade was 1.18 billion yuan, up 91.8 percent year-on-year.

Zhanjiang Customs has made great efforts to reduce the impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the city's foreign trade. It has launched online customs declaration services, implemented "no contact" inspection and examination procedures, simplified customs clearance procedures for marine products to 4.29 hours, as well as reduced or exempted delayed declaration fees and overdue fines.
