Zhanjiang fruits shine at iFresh Expo

A variety of fruits and vegetables with Zhanjiang local characteristics were displayed at the 2020 iFresh Asia Fruit & Vegetable Industry Expo, aiming to enhance visibility of the city's high-quality agricultural products and expand their marketing channels.

The iFresh Expo, which was held in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan province, from Aug 10 to 11, is an important platform for information exchanges, as well as production and sales matchmaking among domestic fruit and vegetable enterprises.

A special promotion meeting for Guangdong's high-quality brand fruits was also carried out during the expo.

Zhanjiang-based Guangdong Beibu Gulf Agricultural Products Trading Center Co Ltd and Lianjiang Chengxiang Renjia Agricultural Development Co Ltd attended the promotion meeting on behalf of Zhanjiang enterprises, promoting the city's high-quality agricultural products through videos, product displays, and interactive communications.

Zhanjiang is a strong agricultural city with rich subtropical crop resources. It currently has a fruit planting area of nearly 1.48 million mu (98,666.67 hectares), with a total output of more than 2.88 million metric tons, while its vegetable planting area is more than 2.26 million mu, with a total output of about 4.03 million tons.

In recent years, the city has been advancing its agricultural brand strategy. It has also cultivated several China Protected Geographical Indication Products, such as red oranges from Lianjiang, pineapples from Xuwen, and mangoes from Qindou.
