A group of 69 businessmen, who are members of the International Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce Chairman Club, visited Zhanjiang on Aug 27 to determine whether it is a suitable destination for business investment.

All of them spoke highly of the city and expressed an intention to invest there.

The Chaoshan area encompasses the cities of Shantou, Chaozhou, Jieyang, and Shanwei in Guangdong province.

Lan Chuhan, honorary chairman of the International Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce Chairman Club, said that he had visited Zhanjiang more than 10 years ago and that the city has developed rapidly since then.

Its transportation facilities have continued to improve, its urban environment has taken on a new look, and its economy has advanced beyond recognition. It is now filled with abundant business opportunities, Lan added.

"The purpose of this visit is to learn more about the city's resources and business environment and investigate projects involving artificial intelligence data, new energy, smart cities, new types of urbanization, the internet economy, cultural tourism, and environmental protection," said Lan.

He also encouraged Zhanjiang businessmen to invest and start businesses in the Chaoshan area.

The International Chaoshan Chamber of Commerce Chairman Club was founded in 2018 with the support of chairmen of more than 100 Chaoshan chambers of commerce at home and abroad. It is its own legal entity.
