The 2020 Liuzhou Cultural Tourism Promotion Conference was held in Zhanjiang from Aug 27 to 29, aiming to further strengthen cooperation between the two cities in culture and tourism integration, rural tourism, as well as targeted poverty alleviation.

Liuzhou's key tourism routes, featured culture of ethnic minorities, characteristic delicacies, as well as tourism preferential policies were introduced and showcased during the promotion event.

In recent years, Liuzhou, a city rich in ethnic tourism resources, has been promoting the development of all-for-one tourism, as well as advancing the integrated development of cultural tourism and related industries.

Zhanjiang in Guangdong province has been paired with Liuzhou in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region since 2017 to assist in the city's poverty alleviation efforts.

The city has been supporting Liuzhou's construction of tourism projects and organizing enterprises to build poverty alleviation workshops in Liuzhou, which can recruit nearby rural impoverished residents, making full use of the leading role of tourism in poverty alleviation efforts.
