The system allows ambulance crews to use 5G medical equipment to complete a series of examinations like blood tests, ECGs (electrocardiograms), and B-mode ultrasonography as soon as the patients are helped into ambulances.
Information like medical images, physical signs, and pathography will be sent to the hospital through the 5G network, which allows doctors in the hospital to make rescue plans and make preoperative preparations in advance.
The greatest significance of the system lies in saving time for rescuing patients' lives.
"When the ambulance is in transit, doctors in the hospital can conduct remote video consultation and get all kinds of patient information through the 5G network, which can guide the ambulance crews to carry out treatment and to make all kinds of preparations in the hospital in advance, building a lifeline in a race against time," said Li Mingyi, Party secretary of the Affiliated Hospital of Guangdong Medical University.
