Construction of the buildings, the main work of the Jointown Big Health Industrial Base project, was recently completed. It is expected that the whole project will be completed and put into operation around the Spring Festival next year, which falls on Feb 12, 2021.

The industrial base is located in Xiashan district of Zhanjiang. It covers an area of nearly 35 mu (2.33 hectares), and has a total investment of 200 million yuan ($29.69 million).

"The Jointown Big Health Industrial Base will be developed into a high-end, large-scale, and intelligent industrial base that integrates the functions of medical e-commerce, smart medical treatment, telemedicine, medical logistics, cold chain logistics, innovation incubation, as well as traditional Chinese medicine planting, testing, and production," said the relevant person in charge from Xiashan district.

After the completion of the project, the project is expected to have an annual output value of about 2 billion yuan, and will be able to provide nearly 300 jobs, added the person in charge.

Established in 1999 and based in Wuhan, Hubei province, Jointown Pharmaceutical Group is a private enterprise with Western medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, and medical apparatuses as its main business products. It can also provide value-added services like information and logistics.

The enterprise has established a logistics distribution network that covers most of the county-level administrative regions in China. It ranked first among all the private medicine distribution enterprises in the country and fourth among all the medicine distribution enterprises.
