According to a recently released list of the top 100 prefecture-level cities in China in terms of publicity work, Zhanjiang in Guangdong province ranks 79th, the highest rank among cities in west Guangdong province to be included.

The list was jointly created by the China City Brand Evaluation Project Group, China City News of People's Daily, and the National Image Research Center of Tsinghua University based on the data and relevant standards of the National Bureau of Statistics and the Microblog Hot Topic Big Data Research Institute.

This is one of the most authoritative rankings in city research, said Du Yingzi, leader of the China City Brand Evaluation Project Group and editor in chief of China City News of People's Daily.

The top 10 cities on the list were Suzhou and Nantong in Jiangsu province, Wenzhou in Zhejiang province, Luoyang in Henan province, Dongguan, Foshan, and Zhongshan in Guangdong, as well as Yantai, Weifang, and Linyi in Shandong province.
