Zhanjiang Airport throughput sees record high

A total of 588 flights arrived at and departed from Zhanjiang Airport during the eight-day National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Oct 1 to 8, a year-on-year increase of 15.8 percent.

The airport had a passenger throughput of more than 66,200 during the eight days, increasing by 17.8 percent from the same period of the previous year and setting a record high. The airport's cargo throughput totaled 163.4 metric tons, increasing by 60.7 percent year-on-year.

During the second half of this year, Zhanjiang Airport has seen a huge recovery in its transportation and production. Its passenger throughput in July has recovered to more than 85 percent of that in the same period of 2019, while the passenger throughput in September saw a year-on-year increase of nearly 10 percent.

On Oct 6, the daily passenger throughput at Zhanjiang Airport exceeded 10,000, reaching a new high since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
